11th Annual YMCA Foundation Golf Tournament

The 11th Annual Golf Tournament was at The Bay Breeze Golf Course on July 28, 2012.  It was a 4 person scramble.    Check Here for Information


30th Annual Milk Run - Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 

The 30th Annual Milk Run was held Saturday, June 23rd, 2012 at the YMCA.  There is a 2mile walk, 2 mile run, 5K walk, 5K run and 10k run.  We also have on outback course for those ages 3-8.  All races start at 8am at the YMCA.  The Outback course started at 9am.  Registration began at 7am, for those that pre-register, bibs and shirts will also be available starting at that time.

Annual Support Our Youth campaign

This year our 64th Annual Support Our Youth campaign Kicked-Off February 23rd and our goal was to raise $60,000 from YMCA contributors, thanks to the efforts of 30 campaigners and the generosity of more than 230 contributors. We were hoping to exceed last year in order to offer more finanical assistance to our communiy.  There is a greater need and we would like to be able to support that.

The community support of the YMCA continues to be greatly appreciated and provides much needed funds for those who might not otherwise be able to participate.

Last year over $125,000 was provided in financial assistance from the two fund raising events held at the YMCA, the Annual Support Our Youth Campaign and the Annual Dinner and Auction.  If you have not been contacted and wish to contribute to this year's campaign please send your tax deductible contribution to the YMCA

Twenty-Seventh Annual Dinner and Auction

This year’s annual YMCA dinner and auction was held Saturday, September 15 at the Fairgrounds. Don Schmidt, Y CEO, reports that the event was again a wonderful success, raising over $65,000 for scholarship support for those who couldn’t otherwise afford to participate in the Y’s programs and services, along with some direct support for these activities.

The over 140 people who attended enjoyed good fellowship, special hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner and entertaining music. They bid on over 180 silent and oral auction items, winning trips to Hawaii, San Diego and Mt. Hood, along with very popular home cooked dinners, fishing trips and many other local business donated items. George Dzundza served as master of ceremonies, with Ed Myers as the auctioneer who encouraged enthusiastic bidding.

The annual dinner and auction is one of the Y’s two primary sources of financial support that enables participation in Y programs, with the other being the Support Our Youth Campaign held in March of each year. This year these two events raised over $130,000 of approximately $200,000 in needed scholarship support The continuing annual success of these events once again demonstrates that we live in a very special place where there is strong support for our YMCA’s objectives and services

The Wall of Fame award is given during the annual auction event recognizing the support of an individual and or couple for their service to the YMCA. Bob Riggert volunteered as a coach and referee, and has served as a Board of Director and a Board of Trustee member. Bob has also given generously to the Annual Support Our Youth Campaign, the Auction and towards several of the Capital Campaigns over the years. Bob has been involved with the YMCA since its founding in 1948 and continues to do so as an active Board of Trustee member.
